Route Sustainability Initiative

Route is proud to announce we’ll be kicking off our long-term sustainability initiative on Earth Day, April 22nd. This new program allows you to take instant climate action by offsetting carbon emissions during shipping, shopping with specific merchant partners and adding Route at checkout. Learn more about the project and participating brands here.

How can I get involved?
Route is covering the cost to neutralize your shipping emissions when you order "1-Click Protect + Green" at checkout with one of Route's Green Partners. "1-Click Protect + Green" Shipping includes package protection at the same cost as before, with the additional benefit that your shipment is carbon neutral. Simply shop from our Green Partners featured here and you’re automatically taking instant climate action.
How does carbon neutral shipping work?

We’ve partnered with Patch, a carbon credit marketplace, to facilitate the purchase of carbon credits to neutralize your emissions. Carbon credits represent a certified unit of carbon removal or avoidance delivered by environmental projects that we can purchase to naturally remove carbon from the air. Patch allows us to invest in high integrity carbon removal projects that are vetted and certified by organizations like Gold Standard, Verra, Climate Action Reserve and The American Carbon Registry.

Why did Route choose the FNL agroforestry project?
The FNL agroforestry project has transformed degraded grassland into a landscape of biologically productive corridors that produce financial, social and environmental services for the region. Intersecting with reforested areas, a "mosaic" landscape is created that allows the protection of wildlife. The area has seen the return of species believed to be extinct or endangered, including: the Puma, the Maned Wolf, the Tapir, the Pampas Deer, the Giant Anteater and the beautiful Hyacinth Macaw.
