What does my tracking status mean?

Tracking statuses can be confusing. We’re here to help.

Below is a list of some common shipping updates that you may encounter while tracking your package, as well as a corresponding explanation and some advice for how to handle the situation.

Status Explanation What to do

“Electronic Shipping Info Received”

“Shipment information sent”

The brand or retailer has notified the shipping carrier that they intend to submit your order for processing and delivery. The retailer still hasn’t fulfilled (processed and packaged) your order, and the shipping carrier hasn’t yet picked it up. You will not yet have a tracking number for your order.

Please note: It is not unusual for fulfillment to take two weeks or more.

Sit tight and wait. Questions? Contact the brand or retailer.

Route Shipping Protection hasn’t kicked in yet.

“Not Found”

The order is still being fulfilled (processed and packaged) by the brand or retailer, and no tracking number has been assigned to your order.

Please note: It is not unusual for fulfillment to take two weeks or more.

Sit tight and wait. Questions? Contact the brand or retailer.

Route Shipping Protection hasn’t kicked in yet.

“Pre-shipment”

“Label Created”

The order has been fulfilled (processed and packaged) by the brand or retailer and a tracking number has been assigned to your order. The package is ready for the shipping carrier to pick up.

Sit tight and wait. Questions? Contact the brand or retailer.

Route Shipping Protection hasn’t kicked in yet.

“In-Transit”

“Shipped”

“On the Way”

Your package is making its way through the carrier’s shipping network. It may stay in this status for several days appended with different details, such as when the package is expected to arrive.

Sit tight and wait.

If your order remains in this status without any updates (meaning no changes to location or estimated delivery date) for 7 days, please:

  • File a claim if you purchased Route Shipping Protection
  • Contact the carrier if you didn’t

“Arrived at Facility”

“Departed Facility”

Your package is still moving through the network. These scans may appear multiple times from different locations as your package travels through the system.

Sit tight and wait.

If your order displays this status for the same two facilities repeatedly, it’s most likely lost. Please:

  • File a claim if you purchased Route Shipping Protection
  • Contact the carrier if you didn’t

“Arrived at Post Office”

The package has arrived at your local Post Office, the final stop in the network, and is being prepared for delivery. The package should arrive today or the next postal business day.

Sit tight and wait. Your package is nearly there.

“Out for Delivery”

Your package has departed your local Post Office and will be delivered today.

Get excited! Your package could arrive at any moment!

Keep in mind that not all packages are delivered by the same carrier who delivers your regular mail and your package may arrive separately.

“Delivery Status Not Updated”

“Awaiting Delivery Scan”

A “Delivered” status was not recorded within 18 hours of an “Out for Delivery status.” Your package is now anticipated to arrive on the next business day.

Sit tight. Your package is expected to arrive on the next business day.

If your order remains in this status for longer than 7 days, please:

  • File a claim if you purchased Route Shipping Protection
  • Contact the brand or retailer if you didn’t

“Delivered”

The package has been delivered with a recorded date and time.

Hooray it’s here!

Can't find your package? Follow this advice

“Available for Pickup”

Your package couldn’t be delivered, but is available for pickup, either at your local Post Office or a carrier’s authorized location. A redelivery may be available.

You can go pick up your package! Some carriers advise waiting one business day from the receipt of this message.

You may be required to show a government-issued photo ID with an address that matches the package label address. If the addresses don’t match, have your tracking number and an alternative form of ID, such as a utility bill or health or auto insurance card.

“Forwarded”

Your package is being delivered to a different address, due to a change of address request or because the package is at the wrong Post Office for delivery.

Sit tight and wait.

If your order remains in this status for longer than 7 days, please:

  • File a claim if you purchased Route Shipping Protection
  • Contact the carrier if you didn’t

“Insufficient Address”

“No Such Number”

Some part of the delivery address is missing, incomplete, or incorrect, and the package cannot be delivered. Your package will be returned to the brand or retailer.

Contact the brand or retailer about your order.

If you purchased Route Shipping Protection and your package is lost, stolen, or damaged on its way back to the brand or retailer, please file a claim.

“Held by Customs”

Your package is currently being held by your local customs enforcement agency, due to a required fee that has not yet been paid, the package’s paperwork is incorrect, the items purchased are prohibited in your location, or other reasons.

Follow the instructions included in the letter sent by your local customs enforcement agency.

Route Shipping Protection does not cover packages detained by customs.

“Seized by Law Enforcement”

Your package has been seized by federal or local law enforcement due to a suspected violation, including suspicion of illegal substances, counterfeit goods, or prohibited items.

Contact the shipping carrier for more information. Carriers are required by law to report suspicious or illegal activity and will have the most information on why your package was seized.

Route Shipping Protection does not cover contraband items.
