Connecting an Email for Automatic Tracking

Never miss a delivery! To have your order imported automatically, you must allow read-only access to an email account that you shop with. This will allow Route to read order information without compromising your privacy. We employ multiple layers of security to protect and secure customer data.

Click on your email provider below for step-by-step instructions on connecting your email to Route.

Step 1: Create a new account

  1. Click Get Started.
  2. Click Sign Up with Google. 

Step 2: Connect your email
  1. Click Continue on the prompt to log into your Google account. 
  2. Log into your Gmail account.
  3. Select Allow to allow the app read-only access to your email. 
  4. Once you’ve allowed access, wait for the connection process to complete.

  1. Click Get Started.
  2. Click Sign up with Microsoft. 
  3. Click Continue. 
  4. Enter your Hotmail email address. 
  5. Select Next.
  6. Enter password. 
  7. Select Sign In. 
  8. Select Yes.

Step 1: Create a new account

  1. Click Get Started.
  2. Click Sign Up with Email. 
  3. Enter your name, your Yahoo email address, and a password. 
  4. Select Confirm

 

Step 2: Confirm your email

  1. Check your Yahoo email for a confirmation email from Route. 
  2. Either click the confirmation link in the email or enter the confirmation code into the app to confirm your email address. 

Step 3: Connect your email

  1. Connect your Yahoo to Route by clicking the Connect Yahoo Email button. 
  2. Sign in to your Yahoo account by entering your email/username and then your Yahoo password. 
  3. You will need to generate an app password for Route. Enter “Route” under App Name and click Generate Password
  4. Click Copy to copy the 16-digit password 
  5. Click the 5. When finished click here text at the top of your screen
  6. Long press in the “Provider’s Generated Password” field to paste the password you copied 
  7. Click Log In and wait for the connection process to complete. 

Congratulations - you’ve successfully connected your Yahoo to Route! 🎉

  1. Click Get Started.
  2. Click Sign Up with Email. 
  3. Enter your name, your AOL email address, and a password. 
  4. Select Confirm

Step 2: Confirm your email

  1. Check your AOL email for a confirmation email from Route. 
  2. Either click the confirmation link in the email or enter the confirmation code into the app to confirm your email address. 

Step 3: Connect your email

  1. When your email address is confirmed, connect your AOL to Route by clicking the Connect AOL Email button. 
  2. Sign in to your AOL account by entering your email/username and then your AOL password. 
  3. You will then need to generate an app password for Route. Select Other App under “Select Your App” and enter “Route” as the app name. 
  4. Click Generate
  5. Long press the password to copy the 16-digit password 
  6. Click 5. When finished click here at the top of your screen. 
  7. Long press in the “Provider’s Generated Password” field to paste the password you copied. 
  8. Click Log In and wait for the connection process to complete.

  3. Enter your name, your iCloud email address, and a password. 
  4. Select Confirm

Step 2: Confirm your email

  1. Check your iCloud email for a confirmation email from Route. 
  2. Either click the confirmation link in the email or enter the confirmation code into the app to confirm your email address. 

Step 3: Connect your email

  1. When your email address is confirmed, connect your iCloud to Route by clicking the Connect Apple Email button. 
  2. Sign in to your Apple account by entering your Apple ID and password.
  3. Apple will send a verification code to the phone number linked to your Apple account. Enter the code to continue.
  4. From your Apple account page, tap Security.
  5. Under “App-specific passwords”, click Generate Password.
  6. Type in “Route” in the label field.
  7. Enter your Apple ID password once more to confirm.
  8. Copy the 16-digit app-specific password
  9. Click Enter Password in Route at the top of your screen.
  10. Long press in the “Provider’s Generated Password” field to paste the password you copied. 
  11. Click Log In and wait for the connection process to complete.

  2. Either click the confirmation link in the email or enter the confirmation code into the app to confirm your email address. 

Step 3: Connect your email

When your email address is confirmed, connect your email to Route by clicking the Connect Email button. 

Fill out the information according to your email provider's IMAP settings (examples include Yahoo, your school, or your company). If you're not sure of these settings, you will likely need to look up the IMAP settings for your email provider. To do so, you can search for the provider’s IMAP and SMTP server settings on the internet. For example, to connect a mail.com account, search “mail.com IMAP and SMTP server settings”. You should be able to find a page similar to the following:

If you are using an email address provided by your school or company, you can reach out directly to your school's IT helpdesk or IT department for this information.

Once you have the IMAP Server details, here's how to enter the incoming and outgoing server settings into the Route app:

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)

Email Password:
The password used to log into your email account.
Username:
Often simply your email address (such as routemobileapp@mail.com). Check the provider details for more specifics.
Server:
Check provider details. Usually begins with imap (such as imap.mail.com)
Port:
Often 993, but check your email provider for specifics
Security:
Check provider details

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

Email Password:
The password used to log into your email account.
Username:
Often simply your email address (such as routemobileapp@mail.com). Check the provider details for more specifics.
Server:
Check provider details. Usually begins with smtp (such as smtp.mail.com)
Port:
Often 587, but check your email provider for specifics
Security:
Check provider details

Click Log in and wait for the connection process to complete.
